DDLMC WEEKLY UPDATE 22/09/22

Government Unveils Two-week Access target for GP appointments

At the time of writing we are still awaiting the new Secretary of State's announcement regarding plans to tackle the impending NHS winter crisis. Much of it has been released in advance however and the headlines regarding GP access and release of appointment data are clearly worrying. We are working hard to understand the exact requirements and to lobby hard on your behalf to minimise the inflation of patient expectation without real steps that can impact on the current gap between capacity and demand. We will update further as we receive more information.

Prime Ministers Announcement on Energy Bill for businesses

On Wednesday the 21st September – Prime Minister Liz Truss announced her plans to help support business through the energy crisis. We have not yet received guidance or interpretation on how this will affect General Practice, especially those in leased buildings paying for their utilities through their management companies.

We will update as soon as we have clear information.

Vaccination Market Engagement Questionnaire NHSE – Deadline 30th September

UPDATE: - If you need assistance with the submission of the questionnaire please contact ddlmc.office@nhs.net and we will share submission guidance.

NHSE are asking vaccination providers to complete a market engagement questionnaire. We (DDLMC and GPPB) strongly recommend you read the document, and complete on behalf of your practice.

The questionnaire is quite wordy, DDLMC and GPPB have provided some examples of possible answers to the questions. These answers are for you to adapt, adopt or ignore. Please note these answers are not the opinion of DDLMC Committee. docx icon Enc 02 - Market Engagement Questionnaire.docx

Take 2 Minutes to Provide Your Opinion Please Complete By 31st October (sent on behalf of Liz Lawrence TeamUp)

There are many changes that impact on General Practice, and you rarely get asked your opinion. We want to change that.

Team Up and the Home Visiting Service is being set up across PCNs in Derbyshire.

Whether you have a Team Up home visiting service in place or not, we want your opinion.

Please follow this link now to complete the quick questionnaire. We are looking for opinions from all General practice staff who will be affected by a home visiting service.

We will let you know the findings through the communication bulletin. Please complete by 31st October.
