Recently, our Chair, Dr Louise Clarke, and Practice Liaison Officer, Hayley Scott, met with Jonathan Davies MP for Mid Derbyshire to discuss key issues currently affecting General Practice across Derbyshire.
The conversation covered the new GP contract, improving patient access through online consultation systems, ensuring inclusive access for those less confident with digital tools, and the importance of reducing administrative pressures on GPs so more time can be focused on patient care.
We are continuing to engage with MPs and wider stakeholders to raise awareness of the challenges and opportunities facing general practice, and to ensure the experiences of both practices and patients across Derbyshire are represented in ongoing discussions around the future of Primary Care.
Recently, we held one of our DDLMC Update Events, where we bring together colleagues from across general practice to discuss a wide range of current topics and issues. These events are aimed at practice managers and those in managerial roles within primary care.
At this session, were pleased to welcome Liz Willett of Kraft HR Consulting, who delivered an informative session covering the latest employment law updates coming into effect from April 2026. Liz explored several key areas relevant to practices, including developments around probation periods, The Fair Work Agency and upcoming changes to statutory sick pay and parental leave.
