About the Role

Overdale Medical Practice is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Salaried GP (5–7 sessions per week) to join our well‑established, friendly and forward‑thinking team. We are a supportive, high‑performing practice with excellent patient satisfaction and a strong ethos of teamwork.

This post includes the following fixed sessions:

• Wednesday: 11am–8pm

• Friday: Morning clinic and afternoon clinic

• Saturday: Morning clinic

These sessions are essential for ensuring continuity of care and smooth practice operations.

As part of our commitment to developing our team, the successful candidate will also be required to take on a meaningful practice leadership role. This includes areas such as safeguarding, CQC and clinical governance. Protected time will be provided to ensure the postholder feels confident and well‑supported.

About Overdale Medical Practice

We are a stable, innovative Derbyshire practice committed to delivering high‑quality, patient‑centred care. We have two sites in Borrowash and Breaston and provide care across our community of 12,000 patients. Our team includes experienced GPs, nurses, pharmacists, a well‑integrated MDT and very supportive PPG. We work closely with our PCN, Oakdale Park to further meet the needs of our community. We pride ourselves on excellent organisation, efficient systems and a genuinely friendly environment.

We actively support specialist interests, teaching and QI work.

Person Specification

Essential

• GMC‑registered GP

• On the performers list

• Commitment to high‑quality, compassionate patient care

• Ability to work independently and within a team

• Strong clinical communication skills

• Able to work Wednesday 11am–8pm, Friday AM and PM and Saturday AM

• Engagement with CPD, appraisal and ongoing development

Desirable

• Experience within Derbyshire general practice

• Teaching or supervisory experience

• Specialist interests (e.g., women’s health, MSK, dermatology, minor surgery)

• Experience working with MDT/ARRS roles

• Interest in service development, audit or QI
