We are looking to recruit a permanent, Salaried GP to work 2 sessions per week.

The post holder will manage a caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all our patients.

In accordance with our practice rota, the post holder will make themselves available to undertake a variety of duties, including telephone consultations, F2F surgery consultations, on-call duties, home visits and prescribing. They will deal with paperwork and correspondence in a timely manner.

About us

Welbeck Road Health Centre is a large dispensing practice located in Bolsover, Derbyshire. There is easy road and transport links. We have four clinical GP Partners and one non-clinical Partner. Alongside we have a large team of GPs, four pharmacists, a paramedic, two advanced nurse practitioner and skilled nursing, health care assistant, administration and reception teams. As a training practice we also have GP registrars and medical students. We have a "Good" rating with CQC and offer a wide range of primary care services to our population of approximately 11,900 patients.

Job responsibilities

Clinical responsibilities

In accordance with our practice rota, the post holder will make themselves available to undertake a variety of duties, including telephone consultations, F2F surgery consultations, on-call duties, home visits and prescribing. They will deal with paperwork and correspondence in a timely manner.

Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the Practice.

Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.

Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.

Developing care plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols.

Providing counselling and health education.

Recording clear and detailed consultation notes to agreed standards.

Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions.

In general, the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.

Qualifications

Essential

  • - Be qualified as a General Practitioner

  • - DBS checked

  • - A medical practitioner whose name is included on the General Practitioner register and not subject to a suspension.

  • - Currently on the performers list and not suspended from that list of the medical register.

  • - Has had an annual NHS appraisal.

Desirable

  • - Familiar with SystmOne.
