Salaried GP - Oakhill Medical Practice, Oakhill Road, Dronfield, S18 2EJ
While the landscape is ever more challenging for our specialty, at Oakhill we are working hard to prioritise keeping General Practice enjoyable and sustainable, recognising the importance of work life balance.
Due to a member of our team seeking an opportunity outside of mainstream General Practice a vacancy has opened in our Practice. We are looking for a GP for 5-6 sessions who values providing excellent patient care, enjoys continuity, traditional family doctor values and appreciates a practical and flexible approach to General Practice.
We are approx. 4000 patients, SystmOne and a short commute from Southwest Sheffield and Chesterfield. We run a total triage appointment system and ensure the rotas have enough capacity to prevent the need for endless extras; there is no unending duty Doctor list- due to our size our on calls are very manageable.
Our patients are a satisfying group to care for and years of enforcing reasonable expectation leads to high satisfaction of access as well as fulfilling interactions for clinicians. Our clinical team is fully GP led which means clinics have a mix of simple illness as well as complexity- which contributes to manageable and rewarding surgeries.
We are a small and friendly team, reception and admin are well trained and very supportive making admin burden very manageable, the practice closes fully at 6.30pm and there is never an expectation to stay later- nor does the workload require it even with current triage contractual requirements.
Appointment times and duration can be flexible- 15 minutes if desired. We adhere to BMA safe working limits. We have strong links with our well-functioning PCN- we benefit from a home visiting service, so home visits are very rarely required.
We enjoy high levels of continuity, following up our own results and admin. We host medical students for placements and early years so there are teaching opportunities.
We offer 6 weeks annual leave, 1 week study leave, MDU paid and NHS pension, rate is £10,000 per session.
Informal look rounds welcome and encouraged to see how we work and meet the team. Anticipated start date end of June/start of July, but we would wait for the right candidate.
Applications close Friday 8th May, Interviews expected mid to end of May.
