Job Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit additional Salaried GPs at Aspiro Healthcare Derby. These are new posts created in response to Capacity and Access funding being made available to practices, supporting improvements in patient access.
We are seeking 2-3 motivated and committed GPs to join our team, with a total of up to 14 sessions available. The positions are offered on a fixed-term basis of 18 months in order to support our enhanced and extended access provision, helping to increase appointment availability and improve patient experience.
This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a forward-thinking organisation focused on delivering high-quality, accessible care to our patient population, while contributing to the ongoing development of our services.
We are a dynamic forward thinking Practice with a proud history of developing our clinical team, serving a population of 40,000 patients across 4 sites. We are a training practice, and the entire team shares the educational ethos whilst looking after our medical students, FY2 and GP registrars.
We are looking for passionate individuals to join our team and as a Tier 2 registered organisation with training status, we are able to offer an opportunity with a supportive environment for a GP that is newly qualified, or who requires a Tier 2 visa. Equally we would love to hear from our experienced colleagues.
Organisation overview and other benefits:
· Finite appointments every session - No added extras.
· In-house Pharmacy and Nurse prescribing.
· Training practice – lots of teaching and talking to each other.
· Active member of the South Derbyshire PCN, direct access to Mental Health Practitioners, Health and Wellbeing Coaches, Social Prescribers and Physiotherapists.
· Established collaborative working with the ICB and local practices.
· Active Home Visiting team, so all visits are triaged.
As mentioned above we have a population of 40,000 patients, so we are a big practice but it's about the small things and we believe in looking after each other.
· We have protected learning time (QUEST) every month and Clinical meetings along with other MDT meetings in the background – Safeguarding, Palliative Care and Mental health and the weekly clinical meeting.
· Like most practices our leave policy is in line with the BMA contract.
· A unique benefit we offer is reimbursement of Indemnity fees.
· There are opportunities to develop special interests for new team members.
· We received a 'Good' CQC rating at our last inspection.
We carefully manage the workload of our GPs to ensure that they work in a safe and caring environment.
If you are successfully recruited to this position, we will agree with you a job plan which will be in line with the standard BMA contract. The Doctor needs to have a Medical Degree, Full GMC Registration and an Entry on the National Performers List as a General Practitioner.
Applications for the job to be made in writing and an up-to-date CV needs to be included in the applications – please direct your applications to ddicb.aspirohrteam@nhs.net
The closing date for applications will be Friday 3rd April 2026.
