Pocket Guide to Scams - March 2017

What are scams?

Scams are frauds and tricks designed to

cheat people out of their money. Scammers

approach people in a number of ways,

including at home, by phone, by post or online.

Scams can include:

  •  Fake competitions, prize draws and lotteries
  •  Rogue traders
  •  False investment opportunities or pension schemes
  •  Clairvoyant or dating scams
  •  Requests for donations to fake charities or requests for personal loans.
