Safeguarding strategy meetings

For the attention of Derbyshire area GP Practices only – not Derby City practices – Regarding the Derbyshire locality Safeguarding Strategy Meetings Triage Service for the over 5 year olds.

You will be aware that last year a new process was introduced where Derbyshire area GP's were being asked by Derbyshire Local Authority – Children Social Care to attend some of the safeguarding strategy meetings for children over 5 years of age where there were no other identified health professionals involved/working with the child. We appreciate that this was not an effective process due to GP capacity/ workload.

We are now very pleased to inform you that DDICB have commissioned Derbyshire Community Healthcare Service (DCHS) to deliver the Derbyshire locality Safeguarding Strategy meeting Triage Service which will now cover 0-18 years olds. This service will commence from the 1st December 2025.
