International GP Recruitment programme: Tier 2 Sponsorship

International GP Recruitment programme: Tier 2 Sponsorship

Tier 2 sponsorship is an opportunity for practices that are having difficulty recruiting to vacant GP posts, to employ migrant Drs who will generally have completed their training in the UK.

It doesn’t guarantee that you will fill your vacancy, but it opens up a new pool of Drs who are able to apply for your vacancies.

As a sponsorship licence is valid for 4 years, it is also useful for practices who are considering succession planning and are aware that they will have vacancies in the coming years.

At the moment NHS England is offering financial and administrative support for practices to become sponsoring organisations, so the International GP Recruitment Programme Workshop would be useful for any practice wishing to find out how becoming a Tier 2 sponsor can help to fill current and future vacancies.
