EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST: CCG Chair, Derbyshire CCGs

With reference to the email from the Governing Body Chairs on 19 November 2018, the CCG's are now inviting expressions of interest for the role of Chair of the Governing Body.

As Chair of their Governing Body, you will bring strategic leadership and inspiration to the new NHS Derby and Derbyshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), ensuring that they exercise their functions effectively, efficiently and economically and with good governance. This is an outstanding opportunity to make a difference to the health of people in Derbyshire by leading and developing the Governing Body to oversee the delivery of the CCG’s commissioning plan.

You will have a key role in making sure the health and care of Derbyshire’s population is at the heart of everything we do and that changes to local health services are made in an open and transparent way. A copy of the role statement for the CCG Chair is attached for your reference.

The position of Chair is open to individuals with a General Practice clinical background currently working predominantly within their Derbyshire member practices (it is open to colleagues working in Principal, Salaried or Locum GP positions). You should have previous experience of working in a complex system and leading a decision-making group such as a board or committee (ideally with commissioning experience) and a track record in securing or supporting improvements for patients or the wider public.

The Chair is expected to be available for between 2 to 3 days a week and will be remunerated at between £80,000 to £100,000 per annum subject to negotiation and based upon previous skills and experience.

For an informal discussion on the role please contact Dr Chris Clayton – Chief Executive Officer via telephone on 01246 514 355 or email chris.clayton2@nhs.net

Please email expressions of interest, which are invited by CV with a covering letter outlining your leadership responsibilities and how you meet the requirements of the role statement, to James Lunn, Head of People and Organisational Development at james.lunn1@nhs.net.

The appointment process will take the form of an assessment centre, to be held on 18 December 2018.
