Perinatal Mental Health Update Training for GPs/Nurses
When:  22/5/19 at 7.30pm
Where: Trinity Church, Buxton

Improve your confidence in identifying and managing patients with common, treatable but
potentially very dangerous symptoms.
Objectives:
• To raise awareness of the commonest mental health problems presenting in the
perinatal period
• To improve your confidence in prescribing SSRIs and other MH medication safely in
pregnancy and in breastfeeding
• To introduce you to a wealth of resources to assist you in managing patients and
their families during difficult and distressing times


About the presenter: Dr Tara George is one of NHS England’s newly appointed Perinatal
Mental Health GP Champions. In this role she delivers teaching to GPs and other primary
care staff to upskill them in their identification and management of patients with perinatal
mental health issues. Tara is also a GP, GP Trainer and Programme director in North
Derbyshire.


Spaces at this meeting are open to any GPs and practice nurses/ANPs working in the North
East Derbyshire and Hardwick CCG areas (in hours GPs or those only working OOH are
welcome).
