Times: 18:30 - 20:30
These sessions provide opportunity to bring together GP’s, Opticians and Optometrists to enhance patient care.
This session will cover “Low Vision”, common causes and how to signpost patients to help within the community to improve their quality of life.
Learning Objectives:
- To understand the most common causes of irreversible sight loss
- To understand the visual thresholds and registration process for sight impaired and severe sight impaired patients (previously partially sighted and blind)
- To understand the patient pathways pre- and post-registration
- To be familiar with the holistic support, including low vision aids available to those registered and those who chose not to be registered (Derby County and Derby City)
- To be able to identify the visually impaired patient who needs support
