DAILY COVID-19 BRIEFING DDLMC – 04.05.2020
JOINT DDLMC/ GPA / GPTF / DCHS COVID RESPONSE TEAM
PCN DES. The letter from Simon Stevens on 29th April 2020 about the proposed contractual change to the PCN DES, bringing forward the Care Homes Specification from October to May has now been replaced with a far more appropriate approach that recognizes most practices/PCNs are already working towards this. The letter (attachment #1) from Nikki Kanani outlines that there is no longer suggestions of bringing forward the DES requirements and instead there is a focus on working together, including with LMCs, on doing what we reasonably can to support both our patients and our colleagues in care homes at this critical time.
We are awaiting full confirmation of the Care Homes spec and associated funding as there has been a few U-turns nationally!
In our fortnightly LMC Practice Manager webinar, we will host a special section on PCN DES for PMs, PCNs and any Clinicians wishing to join the debate prior to DES sign up.
