DDLMC WEEKLY UPDATE 22/09/22
Government Unveils Two-week Access target for GP appointments
At the time of writing we are still awaiting the new Secretary of State's announcement regarding plans to tackle the impending NHS winter crisis. Much of it has been released in advance however and the headlines regarding GP access and release of appointment data are clearly worrying. We are working hard to understand the exact requirements and to lobby hard on your behalf to minimise the inflation of patient expectation without real steps that can impact on the current gap between capacity and demand. We will update further as we receive more information.
Prime Ministers Announcement on Energy Bill for businesses
On Wednesday the 21st September – Prime Minister Liz Truss announced her plans to help support business through the energy crisis. We have not yet received guidance or interpretation on how this will affect General Practice, especially those in leased buildings paying for their utilities through their management companies.
We will update as soon as we have clear information.
